Join chef and writer, Sara Bir, as she demonstrates how to making everyone's favorite holiday treat, Peanut Butter Buckeyes. She will also discuss her book, “Tasting Ohio.” A Q&A will follow.


Sara Bir is a chef and a writer living in Marietta, Ohio. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, she left Ohio as a young adult to get lost, and returned years later to find herself. Sara has worked as a chocolate factory tour guide, a sausage cart lackey, a food editor, a recipe tester, a restaurant critic, a librarian, and an arts and entertainment reporter. In her spare time, she enjoys walking in the woods looking for fruit - a passion that inspired her pawpaw recipe zine, The Pocket Pawpaw Cookbook. She has authored two other books The Fruit Forager's Companion and Tasting Ohio: Favorite Recipes from the Buckeye State. Her writing has been featured in Saveur, Edible Ohio Valley, Best Food Writing 2014, two Full Grown People anthologies, and on the websites Serious Eats, Lucky Peach, and Paste Magazine.
