The non-partisan, 103-year-old Canton Area League of Women Voters is sponsoring a pre-election forum on Issue 2, a proposed statewide law to legalize recreational use of marijuana for those 21-years and older. A variety of speakers from the legal community will address various aspects of the ballot issue and answer written questions from the audience. The program is open to the public and will take place at Trinity United Church of Christ at the corner of Blackburn Road and Fulton Road in Plain Township.
Panel members will include retired Akron Law School Professor J. Dean Carro; Canton Municipal Court Magistrate Derek McClowry; Keith Hochadel, Executive Director of Men's Challenge and Counselor; Quonset Hut co-owner Matt Hisrich; Thomas Haren, partner and cannabis practice chair at Frantz Ward LLP of Cleveland, and Luke J. Marino, CEO of Ration Canabis LLC.
Joe Martuccio, retired Canton City Law Director and a former Stark County Public Defender, will serve as moderator.
