Harvest Celebration

Near the end of August, Ohio locally grown produce is at its most abundant! Help us celebrate the rewards of your regional farmers efforts, during this community oriented event for all. Stock your freezer, fill your pantry & root cellar to enjoy the taste & nutrition of locally grown food throughout the year. 

In celebration of the harvest season, we invite you to participate in the following special event activities, in addition to shopping with the 35+ LOCAL VENDORS that participate in the market each week:

*Enter the Know Your Roots, Biggest Tomato Contest, for your chance to win a $25 Know Your Roots Gift Certificate. 

*Bring your little ones to the Plain Township Fire & Rescue-Stark County, Ohio Central Station to experience TOUCH-A-TRUCK.

*Visit the Welcome Center to pick up a market SCAVENGER HUNT list. Seek all the items around the market and return your completed list to the Welcome Center for a FREE HONEY STICK.

*Be good to yourself and participate in the FREE ALL LEVELS FITNESS CLASS at 5:00pm courtesy of Intelligent Fitness. In the grass near the splash pad, bring a mat or work out in the grass.

*Goats, rabbits, chickens, ducklings, chinchillas and more!!! Learn about farm animals, with Olde Pine Spring Farm's ZOO at the park.

*Decorate the market with chalk art and PLAY with farm sensory bins, coloring pages, farm books, a mini market & shopping carts in the KIDS CONNECTION TENT sponsored by Alex Wakefield - State Farm Agent.

*Enjoy LIVE MUSIC brought to you by BRITISH INVASION.

*Plan on a picnic in the park and DINE with Doanville's Finest FoodsCheezyliciousfoodtruck & the green vegetarian

*Treat yourself to a tasty BEVERAGE from Rowdy Beans Coffee Roasters & T's Concessions.

*Stop by Pershing's Popcorn for FREE SAMPLES and to pick up a bag of their Flavor of the Day!

*Explore the PLAYGROUND.

*Cool off in the SPLASH PAD. (Closes Labor Day)

*Rent a BIKE and/or WALK the trail. 

*Play a round of DISC GOLF. 

* Make it easy with a CART/BASKET from the Welcome Center, sponsored by The Commercial & Savings Bank and take advantage of the VEGGIE VALET TRANSPORT service offered by township employees.

Shop, dine and unwind with a diverse group of vendors that create a wide array of locally grown farm products and regionally produced home, health and pet care items. Food trucks, entertainment, educational opportunities will continue to add to a fun filled community oriented night at the park. Products for sale include: vegetables, fruit, herbs, meat, cheese, plants, fresh cut flowers, preserves, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, personal hygiene & home care products, pet friendly food & gear, crafts and much, much, more! Every week offers something new, such as local musicians sharing their talents, wellness classes, special events, cooking demonstrations & activities in the Kids Connection tent. Veterans Park, located at 1714 Schneider Street NE, Canton, OH 44721. Directly across the street from GlenOak High School and behind the Plain Township Fire & Rescue Department.


Farmers' Market Dates

Open every Wednesday from May 1st until September 25th, 2019 between 4:00 - 7:00PM.

While we pride ourselves on being a rain or shine market, should severe weather occur in zip code 44721 during market hours, we will close early out of respect for everyone's safety. Check our Facebook page for confirmation.


Amenities

Veterans Park is dog friendly and offers a scenic walking & biking trail, splash pad (Memorial Day - Labor Day), covered pavilion, disc golf course, bike rentals, top of the line playground and an award winning Veteran's Keystone Monument and Blue & Gold Star Memorial Markers.

PARKING: Available in the High Mill Church of the Resurrection with access to the park via a land bridge. Parking is also available to the right near the park entrance (along Schneider Street) and at the end of the access road that attaches to such. Handicapped parking is available in the Plain Township Fire & Rescue Department's rear parking lot.

VEGGIE VALET: Golf cart transport around the park and connecting parking lots is available for any market attendee in need by request at the Welcome Center.
