The public is also invited to the Canton Audubon Society's monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at Stark Park’s Exploration Gateway, 5712 - 12th St NW, at Sippo Lake Park in Perry Township. This month’s 7 p.m. program on Wednesday, Oct. 20th will feature nature and bird photography with hammered dulcimer music by Mary Lou Jubin, a retired elementary school teacher. Masks will be required indoors.
A pre-meeting birding walk Oct. 20 will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the rear of the Exploration Gateway, using the flat, crushed limestone trail and boardwalk behind the building. The Exploration Gateway has accessible parking, accessible restrooms, and an elevator to take guests to the trail and nearby wooden boardwalk, and to the meeting room on the lower level.
The Canton Audubon Society is dedicated to welcoming every one of all races, ethnicities, religions, nationalities, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. To accomplish this the local organization will identify obstacles and improve opportunities for diverse audiences to pursue nature activities.c
