Black Birders Week Hike at KSU Stark

Saturday, June 25 - 8:30 AM

The Canton Audubon Society is dedicated to welcoming everyone of all races, ethnicities, religions, nationalities, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. To accomplish this the local organization will identify obstacles and improve opportunities for diverse audiences to pursue nature activities.

The club's first annual Black Birder's Week hike will take place at Kent State University Stark Campus at the mostly flat, paved wetland trail, easily accessible from North Canton over the Hall of Fame Bridge and from The Strip shopping area. The hike will be led by Dr. Robert Hamilton IV, a Canton Audubon Board member and KSU Stark biology professor. The recipient of the campus Distinguished Teaching Award, he has a BS in Biology from Bowling Green State University, an MS from Howard University, and a PhD in Ecology & Evolution from Rutgers University.

The hike is open to bird watchers of all ages and abilities, including children. BYO binoculars, or use "binos" available on loan from the Club.
