Art-in-a-Case
Art-in-a-Case presents the glass work of Kenneth Carter owner of KC Glassworks which is located in Canton. KC has studied with many glass artists including Hank Murta Adams, Larry Tuber as well as Daniel Schrieber. His intention is to investigate early American glass shapes and methods and the influence of European glass making on these forms. His work reveals a fascination with the optics of glass and the resulting transformation of space. The work is currently on display in Everett Cattell Library through May 2.
McFadden Gallery
The Annual Student Art Exhibit is currently on display in the MaFadden Gallery through March 16, 2010. Media includes paintings, mixed media collage, photography, and fiber work. This year’s exhibit was juried by local artist Joseph Close who selected fourteen pieces from a strong group of work submitted. The McFadden Gallery is located on the first floor of the Johnson Center.
Following the Annual Student Exhibit will be seven weeks of individual art shows by senior art and art education majors. As partial fulfillment of their major, the senior portfolio exhibit requires each student to mount a one-person exhibit of their artwork. Students who will have exhibits this spring are Kristen Johnson, Brittany Steigert, Tessa Rohrer, Mandy Harlan, Annie Rufener, Cassie Berringer and Sara Weigand. Media will vary from student to student and the viewer can expect to see paintings, ceramics, photography, fiberarts, and graphics.
