We at Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve are so excited about our new feature in October. It is called Spooky Science and it begins Oct 19, 20 and Oct 26 and 27, 2012 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. It is family friendly for all ages and it will highlight fun education about the natural world.
There will be a Pumpkin Carving Contest. The Entry Fee is $5 per entry. We will have a limited number of free pumpkins available with a registration entry on Oct 10th. Completed entries can be brought to Beech Creek on Oct. 17th or 18th between 10:00 am and 6:00pm. All entries will be displayed on Pumpkin Alley during the event and the prizes will be awarded on Oct. 27.

Madd Scientist with singing and audience participation
Expert Pumpkin Carving (Presented by Michael Connor on Oct. 19)
Bug Guy (Jim Smolka) who is an expert on spiders, scorpions, etc. (Presented Oct. 20)
Legendary Illusions (Presented by Tim Angeloni on Oct. 20)
Mysteries of the Moon (Presented Oct.26)
Owls and Bats (Presented by Stark Parks Oct. 27)
Story Telling at the Campfire
Night Hikes where you will explore and listen for the sounds of the night

All this for only $5.00 per person. Members of Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve will be $4.00. Those 0-2 years old will be admitted free.
