Description:
|
Unique showing of quilts that reflect North Canton comunity history. Display includes a full size "Crazy Quilt" dating late 1800s. This "signature quilt" has numerous names of families from North Canton (then known as New Berlin) embroidered and painted throughout. Display also includes 1845 coverlet made by New Berlin resident Isaac Shafer and several quilts on loan from the North Canton Heritage Society.
This themed-quilt show makes a fine complement to the story of the Hoover Legacy preserved in the Hoover family home's "Sweepng Changes" display and to the rich history of "Walsh University's 50 Golden Years" display.
Tours are conducted hourly, Weds.-Sat., 1-4 p.m. March-November. Group tour reservations available for morning tours, Mon.-Fri.
