Experience the historical review of the 100-year legacy of Hoover’s contributions to the vacuum cleaner industry in Hoover family Victorian home. Victorian decor provides elegant accent to Hoover history along with family furnishings and vintage ladies' fashions. Adults love the vintage ads and Hoover products that trigger forgotten memories and younger visitors are fascinated with the early designs and how features evolved through the years. Manual vacs from the 1800s (non-Hoover) show the evolution of cleaning devices before electricity.
Also, the prestigious Grand Prize Trophy cups awarded for Hoover mployee-retiree constructed floats in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Grand Parades from 1992-99 are displayed with plaques and photos of the celebrated floats.
Another facet of Hoover history presented is the materiels Hoover produced for WWII which are showcased along with photographs and information of the heart-warming story of the 84 children from England Hoover brought to North Canton in 1940. Video with footage of the children and War production is available for viewing. Interactives are utilized throughout the tour.
Advance reservations required for groups of 8 or more. Morning reservations available Mon.-Fri. Admission, $5 children, Under 12, Free. Tours hourly, 1-4 p.m.Award-winning herb gardens grace the grounds. Gift Shoppe with Hoover 100 Anniversary t-shirts and other souvenirs for gifts.
